I had the opportunity to use and test a low cost barcode scanner over the last few days. The scanner is the Newland HR1250-70 Anchoa barcode scanner with a USB cable.
The unit is packed snugly in a smallish box and weighs very little. The scanner weighs 130 g including the cable making it light and easy to handle.
Scanning 1D barcodes is a breeze with a spec of 300 scans per second. The scanner reads, decodes and transmits the data quite aggresively. No stand is included with the scanner but that again will push up the price.
One of the really positive things about the HR1250-70 scanner is the 5 year factory warranty, quite impressive!
The current price of this low cost barcode scanner is R399 which includes vat making it an ideal entry level scanner.
Ideal applications – Retail chains, inventory counting, express delivery services, warehouse management, food traceability, healthcare and more.
